If Alcoa's proposed expansion of bauxite mining in the Northern Jarrah Forests goes ahead, the consequences will be unthinkable.

The Northern Jarrah Forests in WA’s South West are under threat.

Alcoa wants to clear 11,458 hectares of forest for expanded bauxite mining.

If this proposal is approved, some of the most ecologically significant and culturally important forest in the state will be destroyed – accelerating climate damage and putting our drinking water at risk.

This is the most outrageous forest clearing proposal ever put to the EPA. But right now, we have a once in a generation opportunity to stop it.

The EPA is currently assessing two proposals from Alcoa, and accepting public submissions.
