Who we are

Sarah Mansfield is the Victorian Greens first regional MP, elected to represent the region of Western Victoria at the 2022 state election. Sarah is the deputy leader of the Victorian Greens, and the spokesperson for Water, Health, Mental Health, Planning, Local Government, Agriculture & Regional and Rural Communities. Our office team is small, collaborative, nimble and strategic. We are innovative and driven to achieve good results for our community, intersecting with the big issues we care about, like climate change, housing, healthy communities and better outcomes for our regions. Positive attitudes, good organisation skills, and great attention to detail helps us succeed.

Who you are

You are passionate about Greens’ values of social justice, peace and environmental sustainability. You are organised, driven, reliable, efficient, flexible, innovative, enthusiastic and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a small, fast moving team. You have the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people and personalities and establish and maintain positive relationships. You have an ability to maintain strict confidence on all issues associated with your duties and exercise sound judgement.

About this role

You will work in a small but mighty team, reporting to Sarah Mansfield MP.

You will manage and grow Sarah’s online presence and engagement with people in Western Victoria by creating great video and static content.

Flexible work arrangements can be negotiated for the right candidate, including working from home and parliament.

There will be the expectation to travel to Geelong for filming and content production days with Sarah at least once a month or more as permitted between parliament sitting blocks.

During sitting weeks electorate office staff typically work at least some days from parliament.

Because of the flexibility of the role, and since Sarah will often be away from the office for parliamentary or electorate engagements, you will be required to be self-motivated and a good communicator.

You will be responsible for:

  • Filming, scripting, editing and producing engaging high-production video and static content for Sarah regarding core community issues.
  • Managing the day-to-day social media presence of Sarah Mansfield MP across key platforms including meta and YouTube, and grow engagement with supporters in her electorate across these platforms through organic and paid video content.
  • Planning and coordinating filming and content production days with Sarah in Geelong during non-sitting periods (with the expectation that a minimum of 1 full working day is spent in Geelong every month).
  • Attending comms team meetings with other Greens’ MPs offices, and contribute openly and creatively to digital storytelling work.
